Puerto Galera is an amazing place you can visit when you go to the Philippines. You can take a ferry to Puerto Galera from a port in Batangas City. When you get there, you can hire a motorcycle with a side car to go to a number of different beaches on the island. I recommend White Beach. The sand is clean, the waves are friendly, and the locals don’t bother you too much to buy their jewelry or coins. Last time I visited the place, I bought an entire pearl set that includes earrings, necklace, and bracelet for only $4. I think I could have bought the set cheaper if I just walked through the shops and saw the same thing on a shelf. Anyways, it was fun. At Puerto Galera, you can even go snorkeling. The group I was with got to hold a rope on the side of a boat while it pulled us through the water. It’s pretty amazing to see the life that’s in the ocean. The hotel we stayed at was beach front, surrounded by a variety of bars. It was only about $50 a night to stay, so it was quite worth it.
